John used his time to experiment with some swirling ink marks. The viewer can feel as if they've been transported to a haunted wilderness rather than a safe neighborhood park. It's interesting how different kinds of drawing marks can change the mood of a picture. John also had another swirling drawing (not pictured here) that made me think of Jackson Pollock's paintings. I liked to see John show a new side to his drawing because his usual "John style" is to draw very precise and perfectionist-ish.
