Inga Wei, age 12
If you look at Inga when she draws, she is in a zone of deep concentration--a very valuable quality for any artist to have. The trees in this drawing are intricate and lovely. She also made a very wise decision by placing a black band right across the middle of the page. Human eyes like to focus on the place with the most difference in contrast. Therefore, viewers' attention will be drawn by this picture because of the difference between the dark black area and the two whiter spaces that it is sandwiched between.
